Accessibility
Fingene should work for you however you read, move, hear or speak.

What we aim for
We build the website and the web app to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA. We test every release with automated checks, with a keyboard only, and with screen readers on Android and desktop. Where something still falls short, it is listed below.
Talk to Fino, and let it do things for you
In the web app, tap the microphone at the top of any screen, or press Alt+V. You can say things like “I spent 200 on lunch”, “How much did I spend this week?”, “Open Track”, “Read the screen”, “Press Import a statement” or “Make the text bigger”. Fino answers out loud and shows every reply as text, so it works for people who cannot see the screen, cannot use their hands easily, or cannot hear. You can type instead of speaking. A spend is only added after you say yes. Voice uses your browser’s own speech service; Fingene keeps no audio.
Settings you can change
- Text size: four sizes in the app (Settings), and larger text on this website from the Accessibility button at the bottom left.
- High contrast: darker text and stronger outlines, in the app and on this website.
- Reduce motion: follows your phone’s setting, and can be switched on in the app and on this website.
- Read aloud: on this website, the Accessibility button reads the page; in the app, Fino reads any screen when you say “Read the screen” and reads its replies aloud.
- Hide amounts: one tap hides every rupee figure, for when someone is looking over your shoulder.
- Hindi: the app works in English and Hindi.
Keyboard and screen readers
- Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link.
- Everything can be reached and used with Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter and Space, with a visible focus outline.
- Buttons and icons have spoken names; charts and meters have a text description.
- Saving, errors and new replies from Fino are announced.
- Colour is never the only way something is shown: every colour has a word next to it.
Known limits
- Reading a receipt photo or payment screenshot needs a clear image, and the result is read back to you to check before anything is saved.
- Voice needs a browser with speech recognition (Chrome, Edge and Samsung Internet on Android work well). Where it is not available, Fino offers typing and still answers out loud.
- Older PDF statements that are scanned images cannot be read; a CSV or Excel export from your bank works instead.
