Five minutes tofind your Fingene.
The Scan is where everything begins. It asks how you actually behave around money, not how you think you should, and tells you what it sees in everyday words. It takes about five minutes and asks for no bank login.
A conversation with no right answers.
The Scan is a short sequence of everyday scenarios. None of them is a test. Nothing is being marked and there's no good result to aim for, so you might as well answer truthfully.
It is built around a simple idea: people differ less in what they know about money than in what they do when a particular feeling arrives. The Scan listens for the doing.
When you finish, you meet a Gene: one of eight recognisable patterns, with its strengths, its blind spot, and the other gear it tends to shift into under pressure.
When money feels uncertain, what do you reach for first?
Five levels, one at a time.
Each level looks at a different layer of how you handle money. You can stop after any of them and pick up later.
- Habits
Everyday questions about the rhythm of your money: how you handle a payday, a small treat, a bill that arrives early. This level sets the baseline.
- This week
A closer look at the last seven days, which usually say more than a general description of yourself.
- Risk
Three short what-would-you-do scenarios about uncertainty. They are about how you react, never about which choice is smart.
- Traits
Ten quick questions about the instincts underneath your choices: how you weigh a loss against a gain, how you handle waiting, how much other people sway you.
- Reveal
Your Gene, the other gear you shift into under stress (your Shadow), and a confidence figure so you know how firm the read is.
Designed to be easy to finish.
A partial read at the end of each level
After each level you see an early read of where you are leaning. If it already feels right, you can lock it in and skip the rest, or keep going for a firmer picture.
Close it mid-way, come back later
Your progress is saved as you go. A phone call or a meeting never costs you your place.
People change. Your history stays.
You can take the Scan again whenever you like. Earlier reads are kept, so you can see how your pattern has moved over time.
In the language you think in
The app supports both, along with text size, high contrast and reduced motion settings, so the Scan works for more people.
Nothing is connected
The Scan needs only your answers. It does not look at your accounts, your messages or your contacts.
We ask about you only after the reveal
Details such as age range, income band, main goal and city type are optional, and they are asked only once you have seen your Gene.
Your Fingene, including the awkward part.
Your result is two Genes, shown as a split: for example, mostly Striver, 64% Striver and 36% Open Hand. The main Gene always shows at least 55%, so it never reads as a tie. Fino hatches on the same screen.
Then come four parts. First, what your main Gene tends to look like in daily life. Second, your blind spot, stated without drama. Third, your Shadow: the different gear you shift into when you are tired, pressed or flooded. Fourth, a confidence figure.
The confidence figure matters. Five minutes of answers is a starting point, and the app says so. As you check in and add entries over time, the picture sharpens or it changes, and you will see which.
At the end you choose how to begin: with your own numbers, or with a set of sample data so you can look around the app before adding anything real.
The Scan is optional. You can create an account, skip it and start tracking, then take it whenever you like. Fino stays an egg until you do.
What the Scan will and will not do.
Show you a pattern
- Show you your main Gene and your second, in everyday words
- Name a blind spot kindly and clearly
- Show how sure it is, and let you retake it
- Keep your answers private to your account
Judge or advise
- Tell you what to buy, sell or hold
- Rate you as good or bad with money
- Compare you with other people
- Ask for a bank password, card number or UPI PIN
The Scan is an educational tool for self-awareness. It is not a psychological assessment, a clinical test or a financial plan, and it does not measure intelligence, character or worth. Most people recognise themselves in more than one Gene, and that is normal.
Asked often.
About five minutes for most people. Because progress saves as you go, you can also do it in pieces.
No. The Scan uses only your answers. Nothing is connected to take it.
Yes, and that is fine. People change, and so do weeks. Earlier reads are kept so you can compare.
Read the neighbouring Genes. Many people sit between two. You can also retake the Scan, and the confidence figure tells you how firm the first read was.
Yes. The Scan is part of the free Basic plan.
