See where it goes.Notice the loops.
The Ledger is where your spending lives: added by hand, imported from a file, read from a bank SMS you paste, or typed to Fino in a sentence like “chai 20, auto 60”. It is built less to balance your books than to show you the patterns repeating inside them.
A record you control, from the first entry.
Most trackers ask you to connect your bank on day one and then hand you a wall of data. The Ledger starts the other way. You decide how much goes in, and how.
Everything you add is yours to edit or delete. The goal is not a perfect set of books. That's enough for the app to show you something true about your habits.
This week, at a glance
Choose the way that fits your week.
Two taps and done
Add an amount, a category and an optional note in seconds. Good for cash, small spends and the things no message ever mentions.
Bring a statement CSV
If you already have a downloaded statement, import it once and see a longer stretch of your history straight away.
Let Fingene read it for you
Paste the text of a bank or UPI message. Fingene reads the amount, merchant and date, removes duplicates, and discards the original text within 24 hours. It understands the formats of more than twenty Indian banks.
If you choose to connect them
You can opt in to reading order confirmations and bank alerts from your email, which helps spot food and shopping patterns. It is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again.
Planned
A direct bank connection is on the roadmap. It will be opt-in, read-only, and separate from everything above.
Look around first
Not ready to add anything? Start with example data. A banner always tells you when what you are looking at is a sample.
From a list of rows to a picture of habits.
- Where it goes
A category view shows how your spending divides up, so the big shapes are obvious at a glance.
- Subscriptions and the annual leak
Recurring spends sit in one place, with what they cost you each month and each year. When one is due, you log it with a single tap. Many people are surprised, and some are relieved.
- Loops we noticed
The same merchant on the same day, the same kind of purchase at the same hour. Loops are shown as observations, never as accusations, so you can decide whether they are habits you want.
- Regret flag
On any entry you can mark how it felt afterwards, with a short note and a tag for the kind of pull it was. Over time the pattern between feeling and spending becomes visible.
What the Ledger does and does not do.
Read what you give it
- Parse pasted messages and remove duplicates
- Discard pasted text within 24 hours
- Show loops and subscriptions as observations
- Let you edit or delete any entry
Reach further than that
- Ask for your bank password, card number or UPI PIN
- Move, hold or invest money
- Judge a purchase as good or bad
- Share your entries with advertisers
When you paste a message, the original text is read once to extract the amount, merchant and date, and then discarded within 24 hours. What stays is the entry you can see and edit. Optional email reading and bank messages each have their own switch under Your data.
