Glossary

Every term,in plain words.

Fingene tries to say everything in one sentence a friend would understand. Here are those sentences, in alphabetical order.

Gene
One of eight recognisable patterns in how people behave around money: Stacker, Striver, Calculator, Chaser, Open Hand, Vault, Wildcard, Anchor. Something to notice. It can change.
Behavior Score
A 0 to 100 read of your recent behaviour, built from your own check-ins and entries. Not a credit score, and never shared with a lender.
Behavioural finance
The study of how feelings, habits and situations shape money decisions, rather than assuming people always decide calmly and rationally.
Check-in
A short daily tap-through of mood, impulse pull and focus. It takes seconds, and it is the main signal Fingene learns from.
Confidence
How firm a read is. Shown with your Scan result and with forecasts, so you know how much weight to give them.
Consent switch
One of eleven separate permissions, each covering a kind of data or feature, each changeable at any time.
Depletion Vector
A way of describing how your reserves of energy and attention tend to thin across a day or week, and what you tend to do as they do.
Education-only
Fingene explains behaviour and reflects your patterns. It never recommends, rates or compares any stock, fund, loan or insurance product.
Envelope
A named share of your spending, such as food or getting around, with a suggested cap you can change.
Fingene Age
A behavioural-age figure on your Home screen, a conversation starter rather than a grade.
Fino
Fingene’s companion: a conversation that reflects your patterns, and a living form that changes colour and shape with you.
Fino Steer
Opt-in, occasional notes that bring an observation to you near the moment it applies. It never moves money.
Founding Member
An early annual Pro plan at a launch price, in three windows with limited seats.
Groove Depth
A way of describing how firmly a habit has worn in, which indicates how much it will take to change.
Impulse Gauge
A simple read of how strong the pull to spend has been lately, from your check-ins.
Ledger
Your spending, added by hand, imported from a file, read from a pasted bank SMS, or typed to Fino.
Loop
A repeat in your spending, such as the same merchant on the same day or the same kind of purchase at the same hour. Shown as an observation, never an accusation.
Mind Monitorâ„¢
The part of Fingene that notices how you are feeling and spending now: check-ins, the Sunday look back and Moments.
Mind Readerâ„¢
The part that looks a little ahead at how you are likely to behave, with a confidence level and one optional small move.
Moments
A day-by-day timeline of check-ins and regrets, shown as coloured cards: Excellent, Steady, Restless or Impulsive.
MoneySpan
A 0 to 100 short look at the next seven days, based on your recent pattern.
Oracle
A daily reflection about your own pattern, drawn from clear rules. Reflection, not prediction.
Purge
Deleting what was already collected under a permission when you withdraw it. You choose it by typing DELETE.
Regret flag
A mark you can place on an entry to record how it felt afterwards, with a short note.
Sample data
Example numbers you can explore before adding your own. A banner always says when you are looking at one.
Shadow
The other gear you tend to shift into when tired, pressed or flooded. A pattern to notice, not a flaw.
Weekly stance
An intention for the coming week: cool the impulse, build the buffer, sprint to a goal, or your own.
Working paper
An early, openly shared piece of Fingene Labs research. Not peer-reviewed unless it says so, and never advice.
